About Me

Hello,

My name is Alexius, (Alex) McMullin. I'm a terminally diagnosed (see posts in blog) Autistic 50 year old Cybersecurity Specialist who has worked in information security, and information technology, with virtualization and cloud computing for over 25 years. I have been on sabbatical, while keeping up with the industry, for the past 6 years.

I am a long term, proud, Albuquerque resident (A Burqueño) and small business (Privacy First, LLC) owner whose business focus is on offering secure network solutions, virtualization, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity services to other VSB, SoHo, and individual (non-business) people in high profile or risk businesses, communities, and groups. My consulting business is currently not accepting clients, while I am on sabbatical.

I am politically and socially to the left. I am economically center, and personally generally a rigid rule follower. I always follow, and sometimes become very active in, local politics. I believe it is everyone's duty to exercise and protect their rights, and the rights of those less able to protect themselves and their rights.

I enjoy Classical, Blues, and Instrumental Jazz music. Not necessarily in that order. I also like old school jam bands, rock and roll, heavy metal, spoken word, funk, and old school rap. Again, not in that order.

If you see me out, you'll most likely see me with my service dog and my headphones on. She's 8 years old, she's not a puppy. She's a real dog not an animatronic. My service dog is Princess Khloe. She's there to help me, thank you for understanding and not interfering with her!

I have been in 4 major motorcycle accidents. 2 were a year apart (2005, 2006.) Yes, I still ride. I average between 20,000 and 50,000 miles a year on my motorcycle. It's my primary transportation. I've been riding for 34 years. Those motorcycle accidents changed the course of my life. I'll be talking a lot about that in this blog. Some of it may be triggering.

After a 2006 motorcycle accident, I began first having migraines, and eventually seizures (more in posts.) I eventually wound up losing most of my working memory and knowledge, spending years with neurologists, doctors, and therapists. I had to relearn, and unlock everything. My memories, my knowledge, and everything I know about computers. Good thing! I.T. and Cybersecurity is ever changing.  While we keep up with continuing education, we don't redo our fundamentals. And, believe me, those have changed!

The topics in these blogs may will contain some triggering topics. There will also be offensive topics, my life has not been an easy one and life's not an inoffensive event, from our births to our deaths.I
